Pinetop Perkins 1913-2011

From Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson to John Lee Hooker and B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins who's career spanned over 80+ years has become one of the greatest blues piano players playing with these and many other blues artists. He became the oldest person to receive a Grammy award winning Best Traditional Blues Album along side Willie Big eyes Smith.  I was able to see him last summer. I remember being close to the stage and making eye contact with him. I also got his autograph as well which was really amazing being close to one of the greatest blues performers of all time. He was 97 years old.

Ronnie Hammond 1950-2011

This is my post to remember the late Ronnie Hammond who was the lead singer for the southern rock band Atlanta Rhythm Section he died last week at the age of 60. Ronnie is on the far left.
